China News Service, Beijing, July 13 (Reporter Yan Xiaohong) The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles disclosed on the 13th that China’s textile and apparel exports maintained steady growth in the half of the year, increasing by approximately 3% and 12% in RMB and US dollars respectively over the same period last year. Compared with the same period in 2019, it also maintained rapid growth. Among them, textiles suffered from a year-on-year decline in the impact of masks, and clothing grew rapidly driven by a rebound in external demand.
Textile and apparel exports are calculated in RMB: From January to June 2021, textile and apparel exports totaled 908.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.27%, of which textile exports were 444.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 14.63%, and clothing exports were 464.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.25%.
Textile and apparel exports in US dollars: From January to June 2021, the cumulative textile and apparel exports were 140.086 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 11.90% year-on-year and an increase of 12.76% over 2019. Among them, textile exports were 68.558 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.48% and an increase over 2019. 16.95%, clothing exports were 71.528 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 40.02% and an increase of 9.02% over 2019.
In addition, in June 2021, textile and apparel exports were 27.664 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 4.71%, a month-on-month increase of 13.75%, and an increase of 12.24% year-on-year, of which textile exports fell 22.54% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of 3.23%, an increase from the same period in 2019 21.40%, clothing exports increased by 17.67% year-on-year, 24.20% month-on-month, and 5.66% year-on-year.
